1.1 - The Berry Up The Road

'Last one in the water is a rotten berry!' I yelled childishly, grinning. I definitely didn't look like a sim who had just graduated from college.

I quickly climbed into the pool. These games, however childish, were great fun.

'Yes!' my friend Blossom yelled, diving into the water. 'Not a rotten berry!'

'I don't count.' my other friend, Plum said lazily. 'I just want to lie down, relax...'

Suddenly Blossom screeched as a wave of water attacked her. I laughed.
'Revenge!' she screamed, and splashed back.
I dived underwater and sat down on the pool floor, holding my nose. Blossom followed.

Blossom finally gave in and hopped back up.

'Hey, look over there.' she exclaimed.

'What?' I asked, popping out of the water.

A berry, our age, all in blue, relaxed on the chair.

I stared up at him, sighing. Everyone in Sugar Valley was born colourful, but me? I don't know. I'm an oddball. I was born pale, plain white. I frowned, glancing down at my dull hair.

'THE QUEEN HAS ARRIVED!' Plum shouted, jumping into the water.
'Queen? More like the Court Jester.' I smirked.

Another splash. The berry had joined us.

'Who's that?' wondered Plum.
'Haven't a clue.' mumbled Blossom.
He swum over to us.

SPLASH!
Water splattered all over him.

'Oops, sorry. That was meant for my friends here.' Blossom giggled.
He raised an eyebrow.
We swum around for a while, quietly. Some other berries joined us. It was getting pretty late, and crowded too. We decided to head home.

But when I got home, I found a house in front of me. But it wasn't the house that caught my eye.

The blue berry. Walking into his house.

I prepared dinner. I felt lonely. All of my relatives were away in some place called Berry Falls. Sure, my friends were there for me, but I missed my family.

When I had finished cooking, I washed the dishes. Much to my displeasure.

But even as I got into bed, I wondered.
I wondered and wondered.

I wondered about the berry.
The blue berry up the road.
